Talentburst - Recruiter spammers

I keep getting emails from Talentburst about positions I am neither interested in or qualified for(DBA 6 month contract in MA?)...a total of 14 in the last 6 months(and rising.) I did reply to the first one earlier this year and received no response. When I received the same email a couple of weeks ago, I went to their site(www.talentburst.com) and found the only email listed on their contact page as sales@talentburst.com and info@talentburst.com as a mailto link on every page. So I emailed them asking if Naveen Sharma was for real and of course received no response. Coincidentally the email address they are sending these to is my Monster email alias, and the founders of Talentburst all came from Monster.

Also they list 5 offices(CA, MA, Singapore, India and Canada) yet they only have one phone number with a 508 area code.

The whole thing seems fishy to me, and then when I did a search I found this site which confirmed my belief that they are spammers.

And this:

So here are the Talentburst recruiters I have received spam from:

Naveen Sharma naveen.sharma@talentburst.com
Neha Sharma neha.sharma@talentburst.com
Mukesh Sangwan mukesh.sangwan@talentburst.com
Bijoy Deb bijoy.deb@talentburst.com
Vinay Dabas vinay.dabas@talentburst.com

In my opinion these guys are not legit. I am posting this so anyone searching for information on Talentburst will hopefully find this and avoid dealing with them.

Updates:

July 17, 2012 - Just got another one for "Automation QA Engineer (Native Chinese Language" from Bijoy Deb

July 26, 2012 - "Finance Feed quality/tools Engineer" from Naveen Sharma

August 6, 2012 - "Service Engineer ;Sunnyvale,CA ; YAHOO ID-:14054" from Naveen Sharma

August 14, 2012 - "Data Product Support ; Sunnyvale,CA ; YAHOO ID-:14231" from Naveen Sharma

August 16, 2012 - "Senior Software Engineer ;Sunnyvale,CA ; YAHOO Job ID-: 14320" from Naveen Sharma

August 17, 2012 - "Sr. Build/Release Engineer ;Santa Clara,CA ; YAHOO Job ID-: 14344" from Naveen Sharma

August 22, 2012 - "Backend Development ;Santa Clara,CA ; YAHOO ID-: 14340" from Naveen Sharma

September 4, 2012 - "Requirement for Linux Engineer (RHEL Porting) at Sunnyvale, CA" from Vinay Dabas

September 11, 2012 - "Requirement for Unix / Linux Engineer at San Francisco, CA" from Vinay Dabas -- This is a position I used to hold (and the previous is close as well), so they aren't as egregious as the others but because of all the other emails from Talentburst, this ends up flagged as spam...EXACTLY why recruiters shouldn't blast out the other emails!)

Update September 14, 2012:

I guess Naveen Sharma jumped ship and is now at Artech Information Systems, another one that uses the same tactics.

Naveen Sharma Naveen_Sharma@artechinfo.com

September 14, 2012 - "Unix/Linux Administrator ;Santa Clara, CA ;Yahoo ID-:14446" from Naveen Sharma

Hi,
I received the same job offer like you, and I don't trust in the company. I am very curious and cautious person, I starting to investigate the TalentBurst Company and like you said, they are Recruiters Spammers. So PEOPLE...Don't give any info to them.

Thanks for sharing the info here,
Marg.

@Ms cat I was just contacted as well. They seem pretty legit to me with different phone numbers for each site they have offices. The 508 # goes to their headquarters in Mass...so let me no if this is infact a scam because these scammers are getting tricky!!!

There is this directory that lists the better tech focused staffing agencies and their clients. Talentburst is listed there and shows as having a bunch of top-tier clients so I wouldn't reject them outright. http://www.oncontracting.com/vendor/company/talent-burst-reviews-jobs

I received an email from Talent Burst. Warning signs started almost immediately when I called the direct phone number for the recruiter. In particular, three things tipped me off. First, after answering a lot of questions, they asked for my Social Security number. I know for a fact this is irregular. The only time a recruiting organization asks for that information is upon an offer or a signed disclosure document. I asked for something in writing and they only offered an email request. Secondly, I could hear others in the back ground talking. This gave me the idea that this was a call center. Legitimate recruiters do not work in a call center. Finally, they claimed that their client is UPS. I received a similar call from Pinnacle Technology with exactly the same MO and email - with an identical format. When I accessed their website, it mentions UPS, with a link to the UPS website. There is no a statement on the UPS site that Pinnacle Technology or Talent Burst are preferred vendors for UPS.

They are a scam !! A "Kahif Meraj" sent me a job opportunity even though I have never used their website. I liked the job position so I sent my resume 2 seconds after I have sent it this indian guys calls me!! how can that be... anyways at the end of the conversation he asked for the last 5 digits of my SSN... I hung up immediately so he wrote me an email explaining to me that this wasn't professional :)

I received one of those emails today from RASHMI KUMAR for a St.Accountant/Manager-in the body of the email letter the FIRST MUST HAVE is CPA REQUIRED!!! I do NOT have that!! And no where on MY resume does it state that I do!!
Also, another RED flag for these types of "scams" is them asking for an "updated" resume in MS WORD format!! The only reason they do that is so they can use YOUR info for someone else!! If they can not/will not take my PDF formatted resume, then I do NOT work with them!! I have seen this crap b4!! So, just be aware, whenever ANY recruiter asks for those MS WORD docs, you are potentially giving away your info and hard earned background!!!

Hopefully no one gets scammed too bad!! talentburst just seems to throw darts and see if anything "sticks"!! Haven't seen ANY good reviews and the ones that are there, seem to be ones from peeps trying to do damage control...

I am currently in the same position. I sent my resume the first time as it was a role I am interested in but am now getting spammed. I don't understand what they are hoping to gain but this is very upsetting as I need a job.

I uploaded my resume on Job Search websites when I came in the US, and been spammed so many times with ‘jobs’, it’s insane. But I have never received a call, it was all via e-mail.

Today, I received a call from a guy called Himanshu Jestha, a Technical Recruiter with TalentBurst, Inc asking me if I would be interested in Content Marketing Compliance Specialist. I thought this was a legit offer so I asked this Indian speaking guy to send me an e-mail so I can review the job description. When I checked my e-mail, I realised it’s the same company I keep getting e-mails from.

After doing my own research, I found this thread. I did not know that a red flag is sending your resume in word document, so thank you to whoever mentioned in the previous comments.

It was requested by this guy Himanshu, so that makes it clear to me that they are not to be trusted.

Not sure what the comment about the numbers was, but the call was received from number 415-549-8377

Yep. You said you got contacted by a Himanshu Jestha, I got contacted by Himanshu Nigam for a 'Digital Coordinator' for iRobot, supposedly. Same guy, different name. Look out for these. Offer looks legit, dude is tough to understand.. asks weird questions, specific things-- there are red flags, kids. I'm avoiding TalentBurst. They're offering '$30/hr', it's remote supposedly, and the 'staffing agency' claims they're in Massachusetts.

Here's a good site about job spam, and the domains to block. https://www.fortypoundhead.com/showcontent.asp?artid=24007
